Class 8/25/14
Today we continued watching "Bigger, Faster, Stronger" and we watched the controversy between people about steroid use. The main character in the documentary, Christopher Bell, realized that to get to the top of body building you have to be willing to step on a few people's feet. To get to the top you may also have to go against the morals you grew up following. For example, we saw that Arnold Schwarzenegger had to step on a few feet and take steroids to get to where he is now. As said in the documentary "people need heroes in person and fiction if you want to reach the top you have to take steroids. Bell comes to the conclusion that to become the best you can possibly be ,as a bodybuilder,he must go against his own morals and take steroids. In class, we discussed if it is right to go against your own morals and ethics to achieve your dreams. Personally, I believe if you chose to go against your own morals and are fine with living with the guilt, go for it.
