Class 8/26/14

Today in class we finished "Bigger, Faster, Stronger," and discussed going against your morals. Mr. Stewart made the example that: if someone were to give you a pill and tell you that you could get into any college you ever wanted to go to, get any job, and get 6 million dollars a year, BUT you could die in 20 years... would you take the pill? We talked about the fact that this would be cheating out everyone that worked hard for their success, but would you still take the pill if everyone would know you cheated? Some people would take the pill without questioning it, and some people would never take the pill. Personally, I would not take the pill. I want to earn my success from working hard and knowing that I earned it. It all goes back to the morals v. ethics conversation. If we go against our morals and ethics that we revolve our actions and thoughts around we would feel guilty. Would you take a pill that could give you everything you could ever want, but even if you didn't earn it?
